Both sides went into this match desperately wanting a win, but only one team came out happy, Sarfraz Ahmed’s boys in green. What looked like a decent bowling pitch and very strong winds, Pakistan won the toss and decided to field. Making their return, Ahmed  Shehzad and Kamran Akmal were expected to perform, and Shadab Khan recieved his first cap earlier that morning.

West Indies got off to a very slow start and then in succession, wickets started falling one by one. Shadab Khan came on to bowl in the eighth over and picked up two wickets. The 18 year old ended up with figures of 3-7 and got Man Of The Match. Although, at one point West Indies looked like they couldn’t even make 100, thanks to some excellent batting from Captain Carlos Brathwaite, West Indies managed to pull 110-7.

Pakistan got off to a decent start with Ahmed Shehzad and Kamran Akmal until both wickets fell one after another. Hafeez didn’t contribute much either getting out for a mere score of five. Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik put an excellent partnership at hand which almost sealed Pakistan’s victory. A final boundary from Captain Sarfraz Ahmed sealed Pakistan’s victory. Pakistan have won five in five matches under Sarfraz’s captaincy.

Shadab Khan was awarded Man Of The Match for an amazing debut featuring an economy of 1.75, 3 wickets, and 17 dot balls. The next T20I will be on Thursday, 30 March at 12:30 ET in Port Of Spain.
